Computing at our School

Computing at our school is taught using the Teach Computing scheme in Years 1 to 6, ensuring a clear and progressive development of skills across the school. Through this structured approach, children learn the foundations of computer science, digital literacy and information technology. Pupils develop skills in coding, problem-solving and logical thinking, while also learning how to use technology safely, respectfully and responsibly. Computing lessons encourage creativity, resilience and collaboration, preparing children for an increasingly digital world.
Code to the Future Programme
Pupils explore a range of coding platforms, including Scratch and VEX Virtual Reality, allowing them to create, test and refine their own programs while gaining hands-on experience of real-world coding environments. Through these activities, children learn key computational thinking skills such as sequencing, debugging and logical reasoning.
Code to the Future’s mission is to equip the next generation with the skills needed for future careers, helping to build a workforce capable of thriving in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world. We are delighted to offer our pupils this opportunity to develop essential digital skills that will benefit them now and in the future.
This partnership continues to inspire creativity, collaboration and a love of learning in computing across our school.
