March - Rayner
Week beginning 2.3.26
This week we began looking our our new English text, The Odd Egg by Emily Gravett. This is a wonderful tale of Duck who finds an 'odd' egg and cares for it until it hatches. The end results are surprising to say the least! The children have made predictions about what they think is going to hatch out but we are keeping them in suspense for a little longer!

One of our writing activities has been writing in role. We try to put ourselves into Duck's shoes and write as if we are the main character- this can be really tricky to do but we always try really hard.

Week beginning 9.3.26 - A Belated World Book Day Celebration!
This week we had our World Book Day celebration. In Rayner Class we used Jack and the Beanstalk and The Woolly Bear Caterpillar by Julia Donaldson and Yuval Zommer as inspiration for some Spring planting. Together we planted beans which we hope will grow to our magical castles in the sky and made grass caterpillars. These will remain in school so that we can monitor how they germinate and grow over the next few weeks.
