At our school, music is taught through the Charanga scheme, which is followed consistently from Reception through to Year 6. This approach ensures that children progressively develop their musical skills, knowledge and confidence as they move through the school. Pupils listen to and explore a wide range of musical genres, learning how to discuss music and express their preferences using appropriate musical terminology. Children regularly sing, play and perform on a variety of instruments, both individually and collaboratively, building creativity, teamwork and a lifelong enjoyment of music.
